Video Games as Treatment

One of the chapters from the Bogost readings that we did not discuss much on Tuesday was the Chapter on “reverence”.  In the chapter he talks mostly about spiritual reverence within the game Resistance, and its controversy with the church that was used.  It is certain that games can be mentally healing or make you feel good in this reverent way, but as this article shows, games can be used for physical health as well.  As shown by games like Wii fit and many titles for the Xbox Kinect, which is used here, games can provide exercise and therapeutic qualities
