Gaming at the White House

This article peaked my interest because if the White House is shelling out money on the effects of video games on society, then they must be having a huge cultural impact in the United States. Video games are being recognized as not merely tools for play, but as a way of learning.

Video games can also function as a method of teaching, as in the example of Foldit, which “challenges players to learn about the shapes of proteins and compete online to fold them into the most efficient shapes.”
