research question, take 1

-I am interested in researching the good and bad affects coffee has on the body

-because I want to find out if it has any benefits to the health of its consumers as well as if it has any addictive qualities to it

-and this is important because millions of people worldwide consume this product daily without any recollection of the affect it has on their health.

1. Am I focusing on a particular type of coffee? Decaf, regular, coffee from a specific country, etc.

2. Am I focusing on a specific age group? Coffee may have varying affects on different age groups.

3. Has the human body evolved/adapted overtime to the affects of coffee?

  1. The writer will investigate how coffee affects the body in positive and negative ways, because she wishes to know if coffee consumers experience health benefits or, on the flip side, addiction. This is important because so many people use coffee every day without considering what its effects are on the body.

    QUESTIONS
    1) Is coffee as addictive (& harmful) as other addictive substances (like… cigarettes, alcohol, hard drugs, etc etc)?
    2) How does the caffine in coffee compare to the caffine found in sodas, energy drinks (like, is it found in higher doses in one source? which one would be the most healthy for a caffine fix?)
    3) How do different types of people (age/race/gender) use coffee, is one group at a higher risk when they drink coffee (like children?)

    EVIDENCE
    – scientific journals, to explain how caffine affects the brain (addiction)
    – more journals, to explain how caffine affects the rest of the body’s health
    – journals? for statistics on how many people consume coffee regularly, what types of people, what ages/races/genders

  2. I agree with the paraphrased question. This is exactly what i was trying to find out about my topic. The suggestions/ questions gave me a new insight on my topic as well. I had not thought about comparing its affects to other caffinated drinks or even comparing the affects of coffee on different ethnicities. These questions did however make me realize that i may want to either focus my research more specifically on the affects that coffee has on the body or whether or not it could be as addictive as cigarettes and other substances.

-I am interested in researching the good and bad affects coffee may have on the adult human body
-because I would like to find out if it has any benefits to the health of humans
-and this is important because millions of people consume this product daily without any recollection of the affects it has on their health.

  3. They say that millions of people consume coffee daily without knowing the affects it has on their health and that it has good and bad affects on the human body. I say that coffee has positive benefits to the heatlh of the human body.

I still need to find out if I want to narrow down my research to seeing if coffee is addictive or if I just want to focus on the affects coffee has on the body in general.
