Sympathizing with Dr. Trendle in WE3

I thought about the class discussion on the graphic novel WE3, about how the eyes are absent in the panels depicting most humans. Eyes certainly reveal emotions in the animal characters 1, 2, and 3. Often times in the book, Dr. Roseanne Berry’s eyes reveal her sympathy for the WE3 team and her anger towards the secret government unit. And, the compassionate homeless guy certainly displays emotions in his eyes. Are there other panels depicting humans expressing emotions through their eyes? Early in the book, when the senator is boarding the helicopter, he says, “Put [WE3] out of their misery, Doctor Trendle.” His eyes look stern; it seems to me that perhaps the senator knows the government has made a mistake and wants Trendle to put the animals down because he knows they are in pain.
