Defining “Playing Science”

With respect to my previous blog post I thought I would further define my use of the term “playing science” versus “playing god.”  The distinction I am making is that the things we attend to god can be explained by science. So therefore you are not playing god, you are playing the part of science. I also feel somewhat uncomfortable calling it nature because science explains how nature operates. They are not necessarily at odds with each other. What Victor is trying to do is to replicate nature as explained through science so he is not playing the part of god; he is playing the role of science. I guess what is at odds then is science vs. itself (or nature); sciences’ natural progression (nature) versus man artificially replicating or advancing it (science) and the dangers that presents.
