- and this is important because the way we interpret universe structure affects how we interact with the universe.
What are the leading theories in the debate of how the universe is structured and what support does each theory possess?
When was the first theory developed, by who, and is it still credible in today’s debate?
Have any formal tests been done to solve the mystery of how the universe is structured?
Scientists currently disagree as to how the universe is structured; I would like to research current theories on universe structure as it affects the way in which we understand the universe and interact with it.
1) Is there a specific part or region of the universe you could focus on (or specific aspects of universe structure)?
2) What are the leading theories on universe structure, how many do you plan to consider ?
3) Could you focus on theories of universe structure from a particular school of thought or time period? (i.e. only modern theories or western v. eastern views on the issue etc.)

I agree with the rephrasing of my three-part question, but the 3 questions don’t really narrow my topic as there is no such thing as a specific part of the universe to look at nor is there “modern” theories or differences in the theories of the west or east. Most of the theories have been around a long time and have just been re-structured themselves as technology has advanced, and science is not like religion where opinions on it change as you move from area to area. The science community is a worldwide community and what they believe and accept is based off of collective data, that the majority has agreed on, that proves a theory.
My research question: In the Scientist community today, there is a division among Scientists as to how the universe is structured and if a multiverse exists. I would like to research the current top theories on this discussion as the theories chosen to represent the structure of the universe affect how mankind interacts with space.
I cannot write a “they say, I say” form of my research question as of right now because I need to get more information on these theories and what scientists think of each before I can form what they would say. In order to write my question in this time of format, I will also need to form a solid basis for my opinion on the matter instead of a loose idea of the theories.
