I agree that Shelley is responding to the negative sides of science, and the dangers of the quest, but do you think that it is the science and development itself that Shelley responds negatively to, or the manner in which man goes about it?
Also in terms of life and death and how it pertains to Shelley's personal life, especially as a woman/mother/daughter, have you considered her feelings towards Frankenstein giving an unnatural birth to his creation, and then the abandonment of this creature? Continue reading
